As part of Environment Day, the Department of Food Technology and Quality Assurance, Nature Club, and NSS Unit of CSI College for Advanced Studies, Punnakkad, jointly organized a World Environment Day programme.
Dr. Anju V. Jalaj, Head of the Department of Botany, St. Thomas College, Kozhencherry, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Delivering a keynote talk on the theme, “Eco-Logic: Bridging Data and Action for a Resilient Tomorrow,” she emphasized the importance of environmental conservation through sustainable development and the effective utilization of natural resources to ensure a resilient future.
As part of the observance, water samples were collected from CMS U.P. School, Punnakkad, and analyzed in the college’s Microbiology Laboratory. The organizers also announced the initiation of water quality assessment programmes for wells in nearby localities to evaluate water quality and ensure public safety.
The programme was presided over by Dr. Sheena Eapen, Principal of the College. Kurian T. Mathew, Director, along with Dr. Juby Jacob, Kalyani Vijayan, Preethu Prasad, Jithin Jasin, Reswin Mathew Rajesh, Manna Thomas, Bhagyalakshmi A., Santo V. Thomas, and Sharon Manna Shaji, addressed the gathering.
