“The proficient and expert faculty members in the Commerce Department teach us across various learning levels. Interactive sessions in between class hours are beneficial. Activity- oriented - outcome-based learning methods followed by the teachers make learning interesting and ultimately enhance our skills. Last year, we were afforded the opportunity to undertake an internship at Infopark, Kochi.
In 2024, we had the opportunity to attend a one-month internship at a chartered accountant firm. 9 students were sent to different branches in all over Kerala(like Kottayam, Ernakulum, Tiruvalla, Pala, etc). All the students were given the trained in GST and tally before sending them to the internship. The students attended a 7-day crash course in S&B solutions in Kottayam. The course was very informative as well as a great start to the introduction to what the internship shall entail. The internship itself was a great experience for all the students. It was a pleasure to get to know the working culture as well as the expectations of the future workforce. We were allowed to attend and participate in the audits of various banks. We watched the process of the audit and made the report of the same. Our main focus was the verification of documents of loans. It was a very enriching experience for all the students. Our superiors were cooperative and understanding as well as friendly. The internship was a great opportunity for all the students. And we are grateful for this amazing opportunity provided to us by our college
Our Department is blessed with efficient faculty having professional experience. During classes, they give us personal attention to help clear our queries on the topic. We have been made aware of the professional possibilities of this course and also have been provided with placement training. Our college has also given us a fully flourished lab facility. Moreover, we get the opportunity to attend a National seminar on Food Technology and Quality Assurance. We observe days of national and international importance regarding, food, health, hygiene, etc. Programs organized in association with Kerala Forum on United Nations Academic Impact were excellent and very useful in knowing the importance of Sustainable Development Goals.
