The proficient and experienced faculty members of the Commerce Department guide us through various levels of learning. Interactive sessions conducted between class hours are highly beneficial. The activity-oriented and outcome-based teaching methods adopted by the teachers make learning more engaging and help enhance our skills. Last year, we were given the opportunity to undertake an internship at Infopark, Kochi.
In 2024, we had the opportunity to attend a one-month internship at a chartered accountant firm. Nine students were sent to different branches across Kerala, including Kottayam, Ernakulam, Tiruvalla, and Pala. Before the internship, all students received training in GST and Tally. The students also attended a 7-day crash course at S&B Solutions in Kottayam. The course was highly informative and served as an excellent introduction to the internship program.
The internship itself was a valuable experience for all the students. It provided us with an opportunity to understand the work culture and the expectations of the professional world. We were allowed to attend and participate in audits conducted at various banks. We observed the audit procedures and prepared reports based on them. Our primary focus was the verification of loan documents. Overall, it was a highly enriching experience, and our superiors were cooperative and supportive throughout the internship. The internship was a great opportunity for all the students, and we are grateful to our college for providing us with such an amazing opportunity.”
.“Our department is blessed with efficient faculty members who have professional experience. During classes, they give us personal attention to help clarify our doubts regarding the subjects. We have been made aware of the various professional opportunities related to this course and have also been provided with placement training. Our college has also provided us with a well-equipped laboratory facility. Moreover, we had the opportunity to attend a national seminar on Food Technology and Quality Assurance.
We observed days of national and international importance related to food, health, hygiene, etc. Programs organized in association with the Kerala Forum on United Nations Academic Impact were excellent and very useful in understanding the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals.”
I had the opportunity to study Food Technology at CSI College over the past three years, and my experience has been truly enriching and memorable. Our department is supported by highly experienced, dedicated, and supportive faculty members who consistently guide and motivate students in both academic and practical aspects of learning.
The department provides well-equipped laboratories that offer valuable hands-on experience and practical exposure to the field. In addition, the college actively encourages students to participate in various extracurricular activities at both college and university levels. I was fortunate to participate in the University Arts Festival for the past three years, which greatly contributed to my personal growth and confidence.
In 2025, we were given the opportunity to take part in a student exchange program at Bishop Heber College, where experts from the food industry conducted highly informative and inspiring sessions. Furthermore, the college also provides certification courses such as FoSTaC, which help students enhance their professional knowledge and skills.
Overall, the college has provided an excellent academic environment along with opportunities for holistic development and career preparation.
