WORLD BREASTFEEDING AWARENESS WEEK 2025*
The Department of Food Technology and Quality Assurance of CSI College for Advanced Studies, in association with CSI Community Development Programme, Punnakkad, successfully organized an awareness program titled "Breastfeeding Week 2025 - Support Every Drop of Love" on August 8, 2025, at Anganwadi, Pannivelichira. Held under the theme "Prioritize Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems," the event was part of the college's extension activities aimed at promoting optimal breastfeeding practices among pregnant and lactating mothers and their family members.
Dr. Sheena Eapen, Principal of CSI College for Advanced Studies, inaugurated the event, while Dr. Jubi Jacob, Head of the Department of Food Technology, welcomed the gathering. Rev. Thomas Mathew, Coordinator of CSI Community Development Programme, presided over the event. Keynote speakers included Dr. Aashel Maria, PG Resident from the Department of Community Medicine, Pushpagiri Medical College, Thiruvalla, who emphasized the importance of breastfeeding, and Ms. Athira Anilkumar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Food Technology and Quality Assurance, who delivered a talk on the nutritional needs of both mother and baby. Dr. Darly Mathew, Vice-Principal, and Ms. Krishnapriya K. Nair also addressed the gathering.
